Firewood

Our primary source of firewood is the Arkansas River Valley between Pueblo and Lamar Colorado. Elm trees are abundant in the area and although we do handle other wood types, elm firewood is the main firewood we carry.

ELM FIREWOOD FACTS:

Firewood fuel is measure in BTU's (British Thermal Units) per cord (128 cubic feet).

Elm is rated medium in Relative Heat, medium in Ease of Burn, medium in Smoke Production, low in Spark Production, and fair in Overall Ratings according to U.S. Forest Products Laboratory.

SEASONED VS. GREEN FIREWOOD:

"Seasoned" refers to the moisture content of the wood. Experimental evidence shows that when cut and split, most woods require only 2-3 months to dry to acceptable levels. All of our firewood is seasoned for a minimum of 2 months.

HARDWOOD VS. SOFTWOOD:

Hardwood is defined as "the wood of an angiospermous tree as distinguished from that of a coniferous tree" according to Merriam-Webster. In other words, if it's not an evergreen, it's a hardwood.

WHAT WE SELL:

Full Cords, delivered up to three cords per trip (delivery charges may apply).
Half Cords stacked on pallets and wrapped for easy delivery and storage.
Kindling for easy starts.
We also offer Firewood Stacking for an additional charge.

BOXED FIREWOOD:

COMING SOON! We are planning to box firewood in 1 cubic foot boxes.  These boxes will be sold in convienance stores, campsites and grocery stores.  Check back soon to see a list of retailers that will carry our product.  If you would like more information on carrying this product, please contact us!
